Josh Koscheck: Sexist Ass Hole

As an avid MMA fan and jiu-jitsu practitioner, I have often found the sexist undercurrents of the
MMA world to be disturbing.  It is an overtly masculine sport and women are often either deduced to sex objects or are held as symbols of disdain.  Words like, “pussy” and phrases like, “don’t be a girl” are used to feminize men, holding femininity as the ultimate insult.  These tactics are used to humiliate the target and condition everyone around to "act like a man".  When these behaviors are broadcast on national tv, the "everyone around" becomes millions.  This is a dangerous scenario.
Recently, while watching the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter, I was horrified by Josh Koscheck’s use of this tactic.  Watch him in the clip below, taunt a medic for being a “male nurse”, attempting to degrade him for being in a predominantly female profession... which apparently, for Koscheck is deserving of utter disrespect.

Celebrity Apprentice

I'm intrigued by Marlee Matlin's use of a male interpreter on Celebrity Apprentice.  When Matlin speaks, we hear a male voice.  I think this is really interesting from a gender studies perspective.  Does the male voice give her a more authoritative "voice"?  Does this add credence to her thoughts and opinions?  Getting real answers to these questions would involve an in-depth study.  However, it is interesting to note your own personal reactions to hearing a male voice, and then realizing it's the blonde woman's words.  Any thoughts on this topic?
